OUR MISSION STATEMENT: "To fellowship with and support one another; and to encourage Senior Adults to keep serving and growing in their relationships with Christ"
Updates on recent activities: Our trip to Carthage's Country Music Hall of Fame was quite eventful! What began as anticipation for an amazing day together in fellowship and fun quickly spiraled downward when the bus AC refused to keep us cool (just as we left Crockett)! Fastforwarding to the return trip home -- a SEVERE thunderstorm right overhead threatened our peace and quickly increased our prayer life. But God's grace prevailed all day long ---- 1) Carthage had a shop capable of repairing the AC and did so quickly AND 2) God gave Busdriver Chuck (Siems) the calmness and ability to expertly guide us through the storm. In addition the Country Music Hall of Fame and lunch at Texas Tea Room proved to be all that had been promised, including our own private concert by some of the "locals" singing songs of old produced by the inductees of the Hall of Fame. Quite a day! If you weren't on that bus, you missed a true Texas adventure!!!
Dates to Calendar:
September 21 (date change): "Serenity Day" at Conchina Lodge in Kennard. We will leave the parking lot at 10:30, travel to Kennard, have coffee waiting for us, then lunch of chicken spaghetti, salad, green beans, garlic bread, dessert and drink for $12 per plate. SENIOR ADULT CELEBRATION DAY: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 3rd
This is "our day" to celebrate the point in our lives to which God has brought us and to share this with our Church Family. The program will include some of us sharing testimonies and leading in worship and once again, our Pastor inspiring us. Lunch in the Fellowship Hall and an old-fashioned hymn sing will follow Morning Worship. Plan now to be a part of this seniors special day.
